We are a group of professionals working together to actively promote the welfare and protection of horses and other equines. By working to end horse slaughter and other forms of equine cruelty, provide care and homes to horses in need, advance the highest operating standards for equine rescue and retirement homes and promote responsible horse ownership, the Homes for Horses Coalition is actively engaged in improving the lives of America’s equines.
Many of the coalition’s members operate equine care facilities while others are involved in government policy affecting equines. We also partner with professionals in the field, including breeders, trainers and veterinarians. The cumulative expertise of our group puts the Homes for Horses Coalition in a unique position to advocate for equines from a highly informed perspective that always puts the welfare of equines above commercial interests.
As Manager of The Homes for Horses Coalition, Cindy Gendron manages the daily operations of the organization including membership, resource and program development, and event planning. Prior to joining The Homes for Horses Coalition, Cindy was the Director of Volunteer Programs at the Virginia Beach SPCA. She has a Masters of Public Accounting degree and worked as a C.P.A. for a large public accounting firm before following her passion for animal welfare work. Cindy shares her life with her husband, children and several pets including three equine companions in Chesapeake, VA. She is a member of The Society of Animal Welfare Administrators, Tidewater Horse Council and The Southeastern Association of Trail Riders. You can contact her at email@example.com or 757-932-0394.
